God, I Hate the Mainstream Media

Call them whatever you like, there is no liberal bias. What there is is a sensationalist bias. What plays is what will generate viewers/readers, rather than what matters.

But even given this premise, nothing explains the fact that The Washington Post and The New York Times published more than 12 times as many stories about Obama’s questionable pastor as they did on the endorsement of the at least equally offensive televangelist who endorsed John McCain.

Sure, McCain disavowed himself of Hagee, but sheepishly. And at the outset of the so-called Reverend Wright scandal, Obama did the same.

I mean honestly, if McCain and Hagee were black, their story would’ve been huge.

I want the major news outlets in this nation to recede into the fold and die quietly.

Love for the Ewoks?

Okay, okay. Today has been a good one.

Freakonomics Challenges Readers to Find Gas-Tax Holiday Support

Among noted economists, that is. Take the challenge. I dare you.

Mental Health Break

Though today is a good day, and I don’t totally feel like I need it:

Superdelegates Come Out of Woodwork

In what can be called droves today.

So far, Obama has three new ones today, while his opponent has picked up two. 10-5 since Pennsylvania.

Drip, drip …

Another SD for Obama. 2-0 for the day, 9-3 since momentum supposedly shifted yet again.

Indiana Congressman Baron Hill announced today.

Obama and the Gas-Tax Holiday

I’m so with him on this, and think it’s remarkable that he’s the only candidate opposing it. My advice to him is to sharpen and simplify his attack on it, because this is one issue his opponents will throw in his face, calling him a tax-ready liberal. It’s actually a very conservative and fiscally responsible position to take (Obama’s), as well as being the most ecologically sound.

Bottom line: We need to drive less. The gas tax is meant as a disincentive to drive as much as we please, while also providing a steady revenue stream for road- and other transportation-related projects and maintenance.

The other senators should be honest. Stop pandering.

First Superdel of the Day

I guess after yesterday’s nightmare of a day, it makes sense that today should start with a splash.

U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley of Iowa will announce today.

1-0 for the day, 8-3 since Pennsylvania.

Tom D’Antoni Nails the Now

He speaks to Obama’s amazing gifts, magnified in light of recent goings on. D’Antoni also speaks elegantly to the moods I’ve felt today.

Supers Since PA: Obama leads 7-3

Today’s additions make seven in the last week for Obama, to his opponent’s three.

(so far so good on not writing about “her.” hee hee)

Obama Disavows Rev. Wright

As many were calling for, and Sullivan convinced me was the right thing to do, Obama formally distanced himself from Jeremiah Wright at a press conference today.

Mental Health Break

Thx: Sullivan, for so many things, including this wonderful despair check you posted today.
