The enormous difference between seven and eight

Okay, there’s been some discrepancy over how many U.S. attorneys were fired by the Gonzales Justice Department. I first heard the story describing eight. Then came a slew of stories about seven.

I hereby put the controversy over the controversy to rest.

Eight U.S. attorneys were let go, allegedly improperly.

They are:

1. Carol Lam, Southern District of California
2. Margaret Chiara, Western District of Michigan
3. John McKay, Western District of Washington
4. David Iglesias, District of New Mexico
5. Daniel Bodgen, District of Nevada
6. Paul K. Charlton, District of Arizona
7. H.E. Cummins III, Eastern District of Arkansas
8. Kevin V. Ryan, Northern District of California

Case closed (at least on how many cases there were …)
