Music Dork Pt. 2 (Blonde Redhead)

Carrying on the new-found tradition of Here and There Music Surveys, I have a new one: Blonde Redhead.

This band has been a favorite since the days of waking up at 4 a.m. to open up a café in Austin. They’ve never let me down, recorded or live.

But I feel I’ve set some standards with the survey, so I’ll narrow it down to my top three favorite albums, in no certain order:

Fake Can Be Just As Good
In An Expression of the Inexpressible
Misery Is A Butterfly

Just like last time, feel free to write in a contender of your own.

Okay, I’m off to listen to every song I own by them now…

  1. Nope, that pretty much covers it beyond some choice songs on Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons and their self titled album.

  2. For clarification: It’s tough, I miss the old Blonde Redhead, but I find Misery is a Butterfly too good to ignore. I guess I’d have to go with Misery is a Butterfly simply because I think I’ve listened to it on whole more than any other album.

  3. One of the best songs by them is the single where they covered Serge Gainsborg. Do you remember that one?
I don’t like their recent album as much.
Sometimes I see Simone on the street and he looks borderline homeless..not that there’s anything wrong with that.
